Born in Kent in 1952, early years lived in Malaya, returned to England 1960.
Studied at: Accademia di Belle Arti - Rome; 1971 – 1974.
Apprentice to Prof. Lorenzo Ferri, School of Painting and Sculpture, Rome.
Graduated from the Southampton Institute of Art, 1994; tutors - John Butterworth and Mike Griffiths.
Attended Print-making courses at Badger Press, 1994-98.
Member of the “Void Surfers” painting group, tutor John Skinner, at Abbotsbury Studios from 2001 till John moved to France in 2005.

Employed from 1980 to present by Dorset Adult Education as an Art Tutor and from 2000 to 2007 as part-time lecturer for the Arts Institute at Bournemouth.

I now teach Drawing and Painting classes with Adult Education based at St Michaels Church Centre, Colehill, Wimborne. Members of this group, ‘Studio 3’, exhibit annually and as part of Dorset Art Weeks. I organize and tutor monthly workshops in Life Drawing.

I also organize and tutor painting holidays in Tuscany, Umbria and Basilicata, through Paintingitalia (see www.paintingitalia.com). There is an annual exhibition of this work in Wimborne.
During Dorset Art Weeks 2000 - 2006 I organised and led a sponsored Colour in Space Project, originally part of Flying Colours (Year of the Artist), during which numerous workshops were held involving schools, members of the public, etc.  More than 100 large flags were produced and were hung as an installation in the streets of Wimborne Town in three successive years. Then in 2006 an installation  consisting of  25 banners each 5 metres long were hung in the tower of Wimborne Minster and in 2007 I produced another installation for ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ at Durlsten Country Park.

Local Area Co-ordinator for the Dorset Art Weeks Association 1998-2006.
Helped set up the East Dorset Group of Artists (EDGA). Chairperson 2004 - 2005
Workshop and Project Leader for EDGA Community Workshops.

Colour in Space I; Installation of 200 flags and banners in Wimborne 2004. Funded by HeadTrust, DCA, EDDC and Wimborne and Ferndown Town Councils.
Colour in Space II; installation of 25 banners in the tower of Wimborne Minster
Funded by HeadTrust.
Organised cultural trips abroad to: - Rome, Florence, Venice, Barcelona, and Paris 1995-2004.
Organise and teach Summer painting courses in Minorca, Umbria, Basilicata and Tuscany in Italy, from 2001 to present.
